As promised, we’re working our way through all our hotels you know and love and taking them to the next level – each room decorated with a new style that’s inspired by the local area. Every time we re-open a new-and-improved hotel, your stay is guaranteed to be more memorable than it’s ever been.
The latest hotel to get this treatment is Innkeeper’s Collection Ambleside. It’s now open, better than ever, and waiting for you to book your next trip.
When you travel somewhere new, you want to feel two things:
Luckily, our Innkeeper’s Collection Ambleside gives you both qualities from its local pub setting in the Lake District. When you’re relaxing in our pub, the White Lion and chatting with the locals over your morning coffee or evening meal, you’ll soon hear about all the nearby attractions that make this the perfect destination for your next trip. You can even take inspiration from our rooms, named after the most beautiful lakes in the area.
As if you need any more excuse to visit this stunning area of outstanding natural beauty, there’s a number of annual events that bring people flocking to the Lake District. On the first Saturday in July, experience the Rushbearing Festival - a traditional custom inspired by the days when the natural church floor was covered with rushes for warmth and hygiene. Or, for something outdoors, there’s the August Ambleside Sports month (a famous Cumbrian sports fair for traditional sports, including Cumberland and Westmorland Wrestling) or the Rydal Sheepdog Trials & Hound Show. Everyone loves a dog show, and this famous event is only half a mile north of Ambleside, in Rydal Park. No year is complete without an annual Christmas Lights & Firework Display fair. A beautifully festive fair that you won’t soon forget, including Christmas-themed cruises on Windermere lake.
Of course, we’re talking about the Lake District, so no matter the time of year, there’s always something for travellers to see and do. If you think it’s time you took the break you deserve, there’s truly no place more charming than here.
Just say the word and we’ll get your room ready at Innkeeper’s Collection Ambleside. Still need tempting? Find out more about our gorgeous new rooms
